Gemma talk diamonds
January 11, 2012
Hello again!
Following my first blog I am happy to tell you that I got my 5th A for my final assignment on the Jet 1 course!
I also started talking to you about the 4 C's and discussed Cut. Now I will discuss Colour;
Colourless diamonds are the most sought after and valuable. When a diamond is valued, the closer it is to being colourless the better a diamond it will be considered. Diamonds handle light better and create a vaster array of colours when they are colourless. This will make the stone sparkle more and look a lot more appealing!
Diamonds do come in a variety of colours also. From yellow, pink, blue and green. These are known as fancy diamonds.
Diamonds are graded using the GIA scale. D is the best a diamond can be graded and Z is the worst, this will have a distinct yellow tinge.
In store we have a range called CanDour which only sells independently certified D colour diamonds, the highest quality of rings, only the very best for our customers!
